Here's an easy recipe on how to make butter at home like our great-grandmothers used to make back in the day.

First and only ingredient: Whipping Cream.
We used 500mL from our Organic Whipping Cream for this recipe, but you could use as much as you'd like and any whipping cream you can find.
Put the whipping cream in your mixer. Thankfully we have a KitchenAid to help with the mixing, unlike our great-grandmothers. Set the mixing level to medium to start with.
Your whipping cream should start to look like the same whipped cream you put on cakes. When it looks like this, bring the mixer to a higher level but not the absolute highest.
After about 20 minutes, it should look like this. Scrape the sides using a silicone spatula and then keep mixing.
Soon the milk will separate from the cream as you can see here.
After the milk separates it will start to splash around, so it's better for you and your kitchen if you add the cover on top of the mixing bowl :) Continue to mix.
Mix until the butter sticks to the whisk. You can totally see the milk now!
Strain the butter and then put it back in the mixer. Don't throw away the milk! It's really good to drink or to use for other recipes.
Washing the Butter
Fill a separate bowl with water and ice and then add the cold water (without the ice!) to the butter in the mixer.
After adding the cold water, mix at the lowest level until the water runs almost clear. We changed the water twice. (Don't forget to add the cover for no splashes!)
Strain the water for the last time and squeeze the butter in your hand to take the excess water out.
And your butter is done! From 500ml we made 190g of butter.
Enjoy your butter with your homemade bread.
